The Sun appeared in my eyes, with its golden rays of light. I glanced across Universal Studios, a magical place with many adventures, and the roller coasters were starting to light up leaving them to be to be most attractive and eye catching to little kids everywhere. The sight of candy, wearing pink and blue made my taste buds dance and my mouth drooled from at least ten feet away. Everyone danced their way into Universal Studios with a smile at least a foot long, but the people that were going back to boring home, were sobbing with tears ready to stroll out and made a little mini river.
I could hear chatter in my ear and my thoughts had drifted away. The person talking to me was my cousin, she also came to Universal Studios with her family. She was one year older then me, so she was nine because then I was only eight. She has a brother just like I do and at that time he was only 11. Her mom and dad were there too. The brother that I have was also young at 13 years old. Of course my mom and dad came too. A 16 year old cousin came from India to America and came to Universal Studios with us and so did my grandma (my mom’s mom) . We were staying in a rented mansion instead of a hotel. It was amazing! Each room was themed. The one my cousin that is a girl and I slept in the Mickey Mouse themed room. All of the boys slept in a Spongebob themed room, the boys were my brother, my cousin’s brother, and the person from India. The parents had their own fancy rooms, and my grandma had a nice room that would make you feel relaxed and calm. We even had a pool!
“ What!” I exclaimed with a bit of irritation all over me.
“ We are gonna go soon, duh!” My cousin replied, I obviously had no idea what she was talking about.
“ Where? Back to the house? I don’t wanna go yet.” I said with a frown.
“ No! On the roller coaster ride we were talking about for the whole time! Where have you been?” She announced to me.
“ Right, the roller coaster...” I muttered.
I already had the knot in my stomach. I was going on a roller coaster! I know I should have been happy since you know, most little kids want to go on roller coasters and all, but I am not one of those people. Roller coasters make me freak out! They just go in crazy directions! I started to get so frustrated! What was I going to do? I can’t go on that terrifying ride called the roller coaster! I started walking with my mom and cousin. We started to go inside some odd looking building... The building had a roller coaster inside and it was the annoying roller coaster that I was going on. So it was an indoor roller coaster, never heard of that! It was pretty dark in there, so I couldn’t see much. It was a like a big blur. Only some lights were flashing from the roller coaster ride. If you are waiting in line to go on, you can see the roller coaster. It had little tunnels to go through and inside those were flashing red, blue, and green lights. There were stars and the moon on the ceiling. Also the ride made some awkward alien noises. By observing all that, I kind of figured out that we were supposed to be in a rocket ship in space. One good comment that made me a little more confident was that you can see the railings when you sit in your seat. Since, the roller coaster went high. Then it was time, I saw my brother starting to go.
I was about to faint! I am not made for this, it is like torture! I had to sit in rows, I couldn’t even sit next to people! I sat down in front of my mom and got settled. The operator came and layed down the thing I call and armrest, the rod. I saw the rails next to me just like my brother said. But at that point it didn’t help anymore.I was ready and sadly so was everyone else, which meant we would be starting soon. Before we started, I heard my mom talking to my brother that I would be scared and that I would cry, which got me a little worried, but I knew I wouldn’t cry. Although when people say I will cry, it makes me cry.
“ 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF!!!” The speaker blurted out.
“ Thump, thump, thump” The ride bounced.
It was going so fast. I went through all that I saw form the bottom while I was waiting in line. At one point I had remembered what my mom said about me crying. So then at that at one moment of the ride, tears trickled down my upset face. When the ride was done I got up and my mom’s face didn’t looked so shocked when she saw me since she already thought I would cry. I was basically fake crying because I only cried since she said I would cry. My mommy took me and talked all the way until we got to a bench. My brother was ahead of us, he headed into the candy store! He came out with a big lollipop, like the ones you see on t.v , but not gigantic. It even had colorful swirls decorating the circular lollipop. It was apparently for me, well it was kind of obvious. I was the one crying and needed to be cheered up. The lollipop was sweet, but then when all the color was gone, it got sour, but a good sour. We strolled away from the bench and the lollipop was getting sucked on, but it was a little hard because I had a smile and it made my mouth tinier to chew and lick.
