At our school, we had a touching assembly about Rachel Scott. We learned about Rachel and her challenge, Rachel's Challenge. Rachel was a high school girl who was against bullying and died in the massacre in Columbine High School in Colorado. Her dad was furious because two boys named Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were the students in Columbine High School that started the massacre. They killed Rachel first, total they killed 13 students and one teacher, but 33 others were injured and at the end they killed themselves. Rachel's dad obviously could not forgive them and what those two boys have done. One day he was looking through Rachel's room and found one of her journal's, and read on through the pages...they were about forgiving , and having compassion for others. As Rachel said "I have this theory that if one can go out of their way to show compassion, it will start a chain reaction of the same." We can start a chain reaction together by doing simple things, like...
- using kinds words and cheering someone up when they are down
- having goals and maybe keep a journal for your thoughts and feelings, instead of taking it out on others
- being an influence to others, show people the right things to do
- being helpful to others
tht is soo touhing <3 !
