CHAPTER 3
It was time to begin the plan! I looked over Lerva’s shoulder to see what majestic thing she was going to pull out of her bag. She told us she found something special and we were all anxious to see it. She took a crumpled up piece of paper, and held it out so we could see. It was a map, nothing special about it. My hopes had dropped to the lowest level possible.
“AREN’T YOU GUYS SOOOO HAPPY!!!!” Lerva yelled excitedly.
“Lerv it is just a map! Not very useful when we don’t have any location to look for!” Sheepa sighed.
“If you look carefully, you can see how it says Dan’s Free Public Pool Service!!!Well, DFPPS.” Lerva exclaimed.
Dan’s Free Public Pool Service, DFPPS, is where we all used to hang out. But most of all, it is where our dear friend and sister to me, disappeared. It was the last place we wanted to go, we used to go every two months, but nope, that will never happen again. After Guya was gone, we were gone from that place for sure! We all looked at the map, not skipping one bit of it. There were so many things on there, I couldn’t recognize right away, but I found it and someone found it, too.
“GOT IT, GOT IT, I GOT IT!!” Thi said.
She pointed her finger to the spot, and there it was, “ DFPPS”.
We were all grinning until our smile reached the top of our cheeks, this was amazing...But, what would we do with this information? It was like Lerva read my mind at that moment.
She quickly said, “So, with this information, we can go to the pool, and search other nearby areas, that is all I’ve got to so far.”
We looked at each other curiously, and looked over to the map and stared at the nearby areas, Lerva did too, which means she didn’t take a look at them either. We were searching for all the places near it, and the ones that might have some clues with it. My heart stopped, and I nearly fell to the ground. My knees were loose, my face was sweating, and I couldn’t breathe right. I had seen a cemetery about one mile from the pool. All I could think was, “IS GUYA BURIED IN THAT CECMETARY!! IS GUYA BURIED IN THAT CECMETARY!! IS GUYA BURIED IN THAT CECMETARY!!” Sheepa seemed to be the only one who noticed me, I signaled her an, I am okay, look, but I still answered in words, so the rest of the “gang” could hear me… maybe I’ll call them my gang…
“Ummm…Guys, there is a cemetery close to there.” I mumbled, pointing to the location.
“I know.” They all replied quite casually.
Then Thi said, “Are you trying to say you think Guya is buried there!?!”
I was about to say, “Noooo”, but I don’t think any of us were in for some sarcasm right now.
“Yea, I guess.” I sounded very unsure, but I didn’t want to sound so positive about it, I nearly collapsed while thinking about this subject, like two minutes ago! Hello, Where Were You?!?
They all gaped at me in disbelief that I would say something so negative today. I stood there, too ashamed to see them, I gave a flash glance every now and then but that was it. Finally, three minutes later, Sheepa broke the silence.
“You know, she could be buried there, it might be horrendous to listen to but…” Sheepa dozed off.
“You’re right, he can be, it doesn’t make you a bad person for thinking that…It is just so hard to control, thinking Guya could be buried, dead, no hope ever!” Lerva spoke quietly.
Thi just nodded, seeming so innocent as usual, it frightened me sometimes.
We came in together and gave each other a tight long hug, crying our eyes out until there was no more liquid to come out of our eyes. We slowly came away from each other, and began to see the map once more before it was time to get to our duffle bag bed, we had a big day ahead of us tomorrow! We made a good list on things to do tomorrow, you’ll see!
