Milestone Moment Number Four

          I was in fourth grade when I got a solo, it all started like this...

          " Mommy made me mash my m&ms." We sang as a warm up.

           It was time for music in our class, the concert was coming soon, so the chorus students had to separate form the class to get extra practice. I was singing the best I could as we started to sing the real song for the concert. Then Ms.Finnerty stopped. 

          " Saumya, stand there." She declared pointing at the back of the room.

           I did as she told and walked over to the back of the room. 

           " Sing this" Ms.Finnerty said. " Oh freedom, Oh freedom, Oh freedom"

            I repeated what she had sang and I had to do it louder. At that moment the whole class was staring at me and right when I stopped they went back to whatever they were doing. It was a very odd moment for me, my best friends Mary and Annamika looked confused. Then at the end of class Ms.Finnerty requested that I do a solo for the spring concert that is comingup.

           " Sure" I replied calmly, but in the inside I was glistening with joy!
